FBM Missing pending orders- Big issue potentially, help!
We’ve noticed some time ago that if an order is pending for several hours or even days (presumably because the customers payment couldn’t be taken) then say a day/ several days later the customer updates their payment and it goes through, and it appears as an order ready for dispatch…
BUT, instead of that order appearing as a brand new ‘just placed’ order ready to be shipped, it is timestamped at the time they placed the order i.e amongst the already dispatched orders from the day before. How we work is by bulk dispatching the undispatched orders in one go each day. As that once-pending order isn’t in today’s list, it doesn’t get included and is missed (and we then get an INR message from customer several days later!).
This could be solved if pending orders were timestamped at the time payment was successfully taken and it is no longer pending, instead of when it was placed. But I can’t see we’d be able to get amazon to change their system.
Anyone else know a way around this?? No doubt it’s our system of bulk dispatching that doesn’t account for this eventuality but other than this issue it works well for us.

Thanks for the replies. I’m not really interested in paying a3rd party app to get around this. However in the interest of someone finding this thread, what I now do is have a quick scan of the dates of those I’m about to mark as dispatched. Caught one today which was placed a week ago but only just became a shippable order. It’s a workaround.

You could use a 3rd party option to mark your orders as dispatched once a label is printed or something (something like click and drop) then its just up to you to check before you actually manifest that all relevant orders have been dispatched.
Other than that, if you aren’t willing to pay for an order management system (which can be literally £100s a month) then just double checking before you mark orders as dispatched that they are actually dispatched…
