I didn't actually want to set up an Amazon Store

I have registered to sell cosmetics on Amazon. A friend does this but does not have an Amazon Store. She sells individual items, but doesn’t have to pay any monthly Store Fees. She says that is not necessary. Yet when I registered, I couldn’t see a way around this.

I simply want to test the water to see if selling cosmetics is going to work.

Do I really have to have the Amazon Store and pay the £25 + VAT fees each month? I am happy to do that if this works, but I don’t have a lot of stock to sell at this moment.

Thanks.

John.

Go to your settings in Seller Central then account info. In Sell on amazon, change your plan to individual. This has no monthly fee but fees are higher when you sell. If you sell more than around 34 items per month, you will be better off worth the paid pro plan.

If you haven’t sold anything’ ask seller support for a refund of your monthly fee already paid.

If your cosmetics come under the “health and Personal care” category then you MUST have a Pro account to sell these on Amazon, and you require approval from Amazon as well

Seller requirements
You must be registered as a seller on the Professional Selling on Amazon programme.
You must have an inventory of more than one product in this category.
You must have a return delivery address in the local country or provide free delivery.
You must be able to provide local language support for customer service in the marketplace in which the sale is intended.
Your own company website is not required, but it is helpful to use for review during the application process.
You must provide acceptable documentation (for example, valid invoices) and other information that we request about the products that you intend to sell.
Sellers established in the UK must be registered under the UK Alcohol Wholesaler Registration Scheme (AWRS) if they make any sales to other businesses for onward sale or supply.

Thank you very much for your speedy response. I have changed to an Individual selling plan. This hasn’t appeared in my status yet, so I guess it may take a while before it changes. (??)

Regards.

Regarding the product type, I would be selling “Beauty” products, having been an Avon Sales Leader for the last five years. I know other Avon sellers on Amazon who have been accepted, yet don’t have professional accounts. If “Pro” means paying the monthly Store fee then I cannot afford it and will close the account.

I see. If that is the case then there is no point in me continuing. That’s a shame. I would be making a loss. My wish was just to test the water.

Thanks anyway. You have all been very helpful.

Regards.

John.
