I was unable to access my account to process the sale of a book

I think that my account was suspended because I had not uploaded a VAt number. Since books in the UK do not have VAT, I should not have to upload a VAT number I do not possess and do not need or want.

I was unable to get a new password and wasted hours trying to make progress. Not Good!

I am not sure, if it has anything to do with your issue, but I also find it difficult to login to my account these days.

I keep submitting the login details, however it just won’t let me in. This morning I spent literally 2 hours trying to access my account. I had to clear the cache and cookies and then I managed to get into my seller account through the buyer account.

If your account was suspended, you would still be able to login.

If your turnover exceeds the UK threshold for VAT you need to register for VAT even if you only sell Zero Rated products. You just make sure your VAT return clearly shows these as Zero Rated.

If you’re below the VAT threshold that’s a different matter, not sure if Amazon can force you to register if it’s not required.

If you are a foreign seller and using FBA UK, you need to register for VAT before you make the first sale, even if goods are zero rated.

You haven’t given enough information on your status for us to advise appropriately.
