Irish Seller and EORI Requirements?

Hi,
Thanks all who helped with the invoice upload advices for a non VAT seller.

Now I’ve new enquiry, please help.
I’m based in Republic of Ireland and dispatch only to UK Mainland, NI and ROI.
What are the requirements for sending goods to UK with respect to customs and EORI numbers. I read some questions on Seller forum, and visited the UK government site, tried to figure out my responsibility regarding sending goods at UK-EU border.

Please help me to understand whether I need EORI ?

Regards
Waterford Electrical.

Hi

If sending goods from Ireland to the Britain you will need an EU EORI number. (Not necessary for Ireland to N.I.)

As you are based in Ireland Amazon will also now be collecting UK VAT on every sale so you may need to factor this into your prices, if you are not VAT registered.

As all goods arriving into the UK must now have the VAT already paid this will at least cover that.

I am also an irish seller selling only in Amazon UK FBA model. From my own experience I would recommend to you FBA. I also tried to sell FBM at the beginning, but the post prices are ridiculous in Ireland not to mention when you want to track it as well. I sell one product not very expensive and to me, it was not worth it, because Amazon punished me for not providing tracking number to my parcels and so the delivery time was waaay too long compare to even one day for Prime customers. Even VAT registration cost and VAT returns every three months are still better and more affordable than paying for post and worry about your orders. Besides you should instantly get more orders because of it. It is really worth to consider it if you sell from Ireland. You could probably apply for flat rate scheme also.
I cannot advise on EORI because I am trying to sort it out as well.
