Parcel collection issues due to hot weather
I have just had a call from our local royal mail collection driver informing me that Royal Mail is doing a risk assessment because of the government Red Alert. This may mean there will be NO post collection for businesses in my area today and tomorrow.
He also informed me I cannot drop the items to the depot as the lorries will also not collect from the depot today or tomorrow
Is anyone else facing this issue? how will the seller be protected in this instance as it is super extenuating circumstances?
Not to mention staff not being able to travel in due to major train delays due to the heat
It seems like our country comes to a halt when we get a bit of snow. Or bit of sun or some leaves on the track in autumn

We are getting the same message coming though also. We had one collection this morning however been informed if the heat exceeds 35 degrees work at Royal Mail will stop.

We are turning off Prime as Amazon have not come out and said anything and cannot risk the status.
We were on instant chat with them and they asked us to get a DPD account. As if that can be done within a few minutes! So best to turn off Prime, take the hit on sales and switch back on after your scheduled cut off.

I had my weekday collection turn up 5 hours early, they’re running the weekend schedule instead for today and tomorrow. According to the driver (who himself was 2 hours late, thank God), they had zero notice and when temps hit 35°C, it all shuts down.
I pre-empted something going wrong and turned off FBM at midnight. Pure luck I had everything ready on time though.
