Royal Mail extra surcharges for variance in number of items sent
Since July this year, we have had extra charges added to our invoices for “under declared items”-( 48 hour parcels). Royal Mail say we are sending more items than our manifest paperwork shows.We use Amazon to buy our RM labels and use Click and drop for a few others. We create the manifests at the end of day for both Amazon and Click and Drop.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Seems the main issue is labels purchased on a weekend that aren’t forward dated but others have mentioned its a known api issue too possibly ?!

I want to let everyone know that after 4 months of persistently emailing Royal Mail about incorrect underdeclared parcels ( manifested at weekends), we have been refunded for over £1000. I had a dozen emails from RM saying the invoicing was correct, but I persevered. Thank you everyone for pointing out why the error occurred.
If anyone else has these charges- raise a case with RM and pursue it- they know this issue exists.
