Should you use EFN AND Pan-EU?
Hi all.
As the title suggests - is it worth leaving both of these on?
I’ve noticed some units being sold via European Amazon sites (which should have local inventory) are shipping via EFN and therefore may have longer lead times for customers.
The reason i think that, is some EU orders have the following message:
Marketplace facilitator order (legislation: EU deemed reseller): Amazon is collecting VAT on this transaction.
This is a marketplace facilitator order and hence VAT is being collected and remitted to the tax authorities by Amazon. Your net proceeds will not include VAT for Marketplace Facilitator order. Please visit Tax Regulations - help page for additional information.
Is it possible that both settings are fighting against each other?
Cheers

are you registered for VAT and storing stock in all EU countries ?
if so, not sure i’d bother with EFN as PAN EU is cheaper and quicker

You may not have a choice but to use both. To use Pan-EU you are required to have listings on all the sites, but you aren’t required to have storage enabled in every country. If you get an order from a country where you have not enabled storage then it will be sent from a country where you have enabled storage and will be charged the EFN fees.
I’d guess from the marketplace facilitator part that you are getting sales from a country where you haven’t enabled storage as you don’t have VAT registration there. If as per the above post you do have VAT registration in all the countries then is there a pattern to the sales - all for the same country for example?

They don’t really fight against each other but it does create a lot of headaches as you don’t often know how something has been sold
First of all I am making the assumption you are registered for VAT in the Countries you wish to sell into and store the stock there. If not then pan-eu is non starter and you will will be looking at EFN.
Secondly having both settings will cause issues without you realising it. For example just say you hold an asin in France and the same asin in the UK. You have a buyer in the UK that goes onto the France site and just buys it because the EFN is showing it as available. You will then get charged EFN fees which are double if you use small and light. I have been stung by this in the the past. You are far better if registered for VAT to use pan-eu over EFN.

Hi all. Thanks for the info.
We are VAT registered in all countries we store inventory in, so I might try turning EFN off and see if there’s any change
