Trying to list gin

Hello,

Ive been trying (unsuccessfully) to add my gin to Amazon. I have a personal & premises licence but amazon keep refusing without giving an explanation as to what is wrong with them and then ask I provide them with my personal & premises license. I’m loosing the will to live as I’m providing them with the correct documentation.

Any help/ thoughts are much appreciated!
Thanks
Tracy

Could you post here all communication between you and Amazon regarding the matter, to see if anyone would be able to help?

Also, check all the Amazon help pages with requirements to sell this product category:

https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/gp/help/help.html/?itemID=G201744410&ref_=ag_G201744410_h_r0_cont_sgsearch

The document requirements can be found here:

I went through the alcohol approval nightmare about a year ago and had the same issues. Just the same generic emails rejecting my licences over and over again for no apparent reason. Only once did I get a different response which if you’re based in Monmouth you might get at some point as you may have a bilingual licence. Apparently Welsh is not a valid language according to Amazon. This was of course complete nonsense and I suspect Amazon were just trying to find a different excuse not to grant us approval. The English text is clearly on the documents.

Anyway, I’m not sure if my thread is still knocking about on Amazon from last year but numerous other sellers were having the same issues as me at the time and I’ve seen plenty of threads since on the same issue. I think generally Amazon just try to restrict the amount of alcohol sellers but they don’t bother telling you that, they just keep feeding you rubbish instead. I was told by plenty of other sellers on the forums that I will never get approval to sell alcohol and they were almost right. It took me about 4 months to get approval. I kept requesting approval every week and kept reopening cases when they were closing them without answering my questions. It was so frustrating especially as I ticked all of Amazon’s boxes but I stuck at it and out of the blue they finally accepted my request. To this day I still don’t know why but I’d be foolish to ask but I sell on Amazon now knowing that one day, they could remove that approval without warning or reason.

So I think you’re probably submitting all the right stuff so I’d suggest you just keep persevering and you might get lucky. All the best!

Thanks muddlebox that’s very helpful to know. I did think that maybe the welsh was confusing them but then I thought surely they can’t be that stupid or ignorant as the English is plain to see on the licenses.

I will persevere as suggested and hope for the best!
