Veryfication issues / utr help needed
Hi all and thanks in advance before i start if i get assistance on my post could all be patience as i am (dyslexic) and find it difficult to spell and relay clear information to you all etc so i apologise in advance again
ok here we go
i joined amazon seller about three weeks ago and got the dreaded request to forward information to amazon to veryfy my account so far : bank statements seller status adress etc etc …now they have asked for UTR conformation via a letter from HRMC my first question is what do they use that information for purley veryfie me as a person ? .
given this has rolled on for a few weeks now ( trying to get veryfied) , im at my wits end also being dyslexic i get stessed easy around it all .
i first question is amazon state HMRC will assist with this request ? if so will they be able to (email ) this conformation letter to me and send in a format that will upload to amazon ie pdf or siml? also if i could get it emailed to me it would speed up the process of do they have to post this?
again not knowing i am a landscape garden worker self employed etc and given registerd as so with HRMC will this effect my registration being a trader on amzon being a duffernt trading name on amazon verses HMRC or i might be reading into that too deep? UTR just a way of confirming i am rsgisterd etc?
i fully intend to pay my dues with tax from amazon either way etc but i have focused and worked really hard to find products to sell as you all know and focused on opening an amazon account and getting used to navigating the seller site as whole and only listing small amounts to sell and still green etc
i am really stressed out by all this and wish they had stated when i opend a account to sell but they didnt and now i have profits locked in until they veryfiy me as whole
any questions could i ask you put it in lay mans terms as per my post dyslexia rules my train of thought etc
many thanks tim

They want your UTR so they know you have told HMRC you are self-employed.
You can call HMRC and ask them to send a letter confirming your UTR. Once you get it you can take a photo of it / scan it and upload it.
HMRC are not going to care you’re selling on Amazon alongside your current business as long as you declare everything.
It has been a couple of years since i registered on Amazon, but at that time it was quite clear that a business account was needed to sell for profit. Whether it’s now less clear or not doesn’t really matter too much - you can’t do anything other than give Amazon the things they want.

I’m sure that Sole Proprietor means that you are only selling your own items, old clothes, tools etc
If you are selling stuff for profit you will need to be registered as a Sole Trader

When you say your own items would that be seconds hand items you own I assume ? Not new items
