How do I work out my balance?

It used to be so easy to figure out what money Amazon owed me but now I can't get my head around it.

In payments dashboard I have 3 figures - "Standard orders" which is a negative amount, "Deferred transacions" which is a positive amount, and "All accounts" which is a positive amount. Using these three figures how do I work out what money I am owed by Amazon?

Thanks.

Hi Lyrics_Art,

On payments dashboard look for FUNDS AVAILABLE and pull down At Settlement End and that will tell you how much Amazon will pay you at the end of the Settlement Period

All Best

Hi, that can't be right as it says -£62 and the other 2 balances are in thousands.

Hi ,

There is often a BIG difference between Funds Now and Funds At Settlement End... are you sure you pulled down At Settlement End?

Don't forget DDE+7 which means only funds for those orders that have been delivered more than 7 days ago are currently available, if requested...

But withour knowing your business details there's not a lot more I can say

Sorry

Brian

Hi, I don't want to know funds available - I just want to know how much credit I currently have, regardless of when the settlement ends. It used to just show a figure, even on the app.

Sorry, I don't really understand your question and so can't help.

PS You started asking about your balance, so I told you how to find your current balance and that at the end of the payment period. Now you're asking about how much credit you have - and that I have no clue about.

Apologies, I am not explaining myself very well. Up unitl a few months ago I got shown a single figure, a balance, let's say £10K. That figure would go up when I shipped orders and it would go down when such things as ads invoices were due. However it was always a reasonable guide as to how much money I was likely to receive over the coming weeks. It was even on the mobile app. I don't have that now but would like to figure it out.

I Understand you completely! I've asked Amazon for where I can find this on several occasions and just get told the same thing. That its normal for their to be a reserve ETC. The amount in reserve just seems to get bigger and bigger. All I want to know is which orders this relates to and what are the reasons for the reserve. Also I've noticed the reserve figure oscillates on a daily basis. I've had it swing from £900 to £200 the next day. I've had zero A to Z claims since DD7 came in, and prior to that I can't actually recall what date my last A to Z was its so rare. My account health is tickety boo and I've been on Amazon for 12 years now. Go figure. Why can't they just add a report which breaks this down for us to help with cash flow planning?

Because so many orders are under deferred transactions your balance at settlement end won't show correctly. The settlement end balance only adjusts once the deferred transactions start to be released. Its a very confusing system as you cant even forecast whats due to be paid out easily. Its crazy how amazon hold money for basically 14 days on the DD+7 policy. Very bad for cashflow.

The new system is simple and, in my opinion, better than the old Account Level Reserve; which I could never work out.

Standard orders: This is what's available to disburse. I assume yours is negative because you've disbursed recently?

Deferred transactions: This is what Amazon are holding back incase of returns, refunds, etc. Click on the figure to see when each transaction will move to released, and be added to the figure above.

The final figure is the sum of the two above.

Don't worry... Amazon will give most of it away in refunds before you have to count it properly....
