Can you add a Child Listing to a Parent Listing you do not own?

Hi,

There is a product variant that we have stocked, that is not currently a variant on Amazon.

There is every other colour in the same measurements separate from the colour we have.

We want to create a Child Listing for this, however we are not the Parent Listing owner of manufacturer.

How can we generate the Child Listing?

Any info would be greatly helpful!

To create a new child (variation) to an existing Parent (Product) that you have not created:

How to add a New Child (variation) to an Existing Parent created by another seller?

Look up the product details page for an existing parent item and find its ASIN. The parent ASIN # is generally located in the Product Detail section on the detail page of any child ASIN.

In your inventory template, add the new item and fill in fields exactly as if it were a child within a parent-child variation set.

Note: Be sure to match the Variation Theme field to the existing parent.

Add a parent item and fill in the fields that create the parent-child relationship with the new child item and that mirror the variation theme of the child item.

In the parent item:

Leave Parent SKU field blank

Specify the parent ASIN in the Product ID field

In the Product ID Type field enter "ASIN". This will associate your new child item with the ASIN of the existing parent item.

Leave Parent SKU field blank

Use the ASIN in the Parent SKU field for the new child item.

Validate and upload the completed inventory template.

In your inventory template, add the new item and fill in fields exactly as if it were a child within the existing parent-child variation set.

Note: Be sure to match the Variation Theme field to the existing parent.

Add a parent item and fill in the fields that create the parent-child relationship with the new child item and that mirror the variation theme of the child item.

Enter a SKU in the parent’s SKU field. You can choose any alphanumeric string of 40 characters or less, but must be unique to your listings (i.e. must not duplicate any of your other SKUs).

Use the Parent SKU in the Parent SKU field for the new child item.

Validate and upload the completed inventory template.
