Claim non delivery - massive increase
Has anyone seen huge increase in messages of claims of non delivery.
The last 2/3 weeks we have seen a huge increase, around 2-3 messages a day (all proof of delivery) after pointing this out most go away but have lost 3 A-Z this week alone.
I know it’s been going on for years but the past couple weeks seems just out of proportion to what we normally get.
(Had none on eBay in same period)
Has amazon Changed something again I’m not aware of. Or has the new Auto returns caused this with buyers getting more and more savvy.

If you’re using a delivery confirmation or tracked service, Amazon will periodically start telling your buyers whose delivery the system fails to verify that their parcel has been lost or delayed, and that they can contact the seller for a refund.
Have you recently changed the way you ship/record shipping on Amazon, possible due to VTR?

Yep.
Two in the last week, six in the last month on Amazon.
Just one in the last month on Ebay.
Mentioned this to the other half just yesterday that I’d never thought that Amazon would be worse than Ebay for INR’s, but it is now.

I have had more INR’s since using Buy Shipping bizarrely. All with proof of delivery, and all lost out to A-Z Claims. I just think customers are getting wiser to how easy it is to get their money back.

I’m the opposite, none on Amazon and 3 today alone on Ebay despite twice as many sales on Amazon, no PoD though as all send standard 2nd class.

Yes and it’s driving me bonkers!
Also noticed the VTR has fallen off a cliff edge recently. Amazon claim no valid tracking details, but on double checking, everything is valid. - this is just compounding the issue with INR’s

All the parcels we use either 2d or Tracked, but all the non claims have had the POD as you would expect.
Customers even in message state something like
“Item Not received even though it states otherwise”
So this would indicate that the buyer are getting the correct update from amazon as being delivered. so in theory those previous messages of your item has not arrived please claim a refund now are not on going as they were last year.
But the sheer volume of chancers is just constant right now. there maybe genuine ones in there but on a % game i just don’t know anymore. Due to our volume we can take a couple A-Z metrics wise but certainly not the Seller funded ones right now.
im assuming the A-Z would be genuine the others that go away are the chancers -I don’t know anymore

Same here, we have refunded over £400 this weekend.

Amazon have done such a good job in convincing buyers they are buying from Amazon - and not from small businesses like ours - that chancers aren’t bothered about trying to scam money out of what they think is Amazon, something helped by the media’s massive criticism of Amazon recently. It was noticeable during the lockdown’s with many posts on the likes of FB with people posting memes about supporting local businesses and not Amazon especially after lockdown finished. I spent a lot of time pointing out to some of my contacts that we are an Amazon seller and a small business!!

If you use Royal Mail contact Royal Mail Security office. We have noticed it always the same postcodes where you get all the issues. It’s like they tell their mates to put in a false claim.

Had 4 A to Zs on here last 3eeks… All proof of delivery, tracked.
Lost all 4 of these cases.
I have had zero claims in ebay for last 3 months.
Had 3 on ebay around Xmas all tracked and all found in my favour.
Amazon have always sided with the buyer.
