Changing Company Details with German Tax Office

Hi, following a business sale I need to change the Registered Office address and responsible person registered with the German Tax authorities. I contacted Amazon and the Agent Avalara want 150 Euros to make these changes. That seems pretty steep to me and I was wondering if I can do this myself by writing to the tax office independently? Anybody have experience of this?
