Read onlyHi, I have started getting requests for refunds through from orders that were made 3 months ago. Amazon do not store addresses after 30 days so I can not even check if there are any issues with the address.
I have tried to google it but all I can see is buyers can claim after 30 days? How long is reasonable/legal to claim and does it matter what postage is used? The lost items are RM48 (untracked).
Also as a side note I am annoyed RM do not always scan this service but as they are low value items there is no budget for tracked on these particular items!.
Thanks in Advance :)
Generally speaking, the customer can still open an A-Z for an order up to 90 days after the last estimated delivery date of the order.
If after that, there wouldn't really be any recompense and you can argue that aren't able to chase up with Royal Mail due to the time elapsed.
We've always gone on a 90 day rule due to the above. We also used to use Royal Mail 48. If the tracking did show delivery, we'd go back with that, but if we had no proof, we'd just refund.
You should be able to download the invoice and see the full address.
Do your labels download when you print? May be sat somewhere on your pc?
we save all the royal mail labels as pdf files. It's really odd how many messages we get around a month after delivery saying package not received, and then when the rm delivery confirmation details are sent over it all goes quiet.....
Actually some months ago I had one who said that she decided to have some patchouli incense that she had bought from me 4 months earlier, went to living room to get it and wasn't there and suddenly realised that she had never received that order. I know, I know...it only happens on Amazon though
you can pull order from the last 365 days with all the details including address, just ask customer for order id and enter it into to the search in your order page
Or they've read something online about a way of getting something for nothing and decided to try it out.
Save all RM delivery details, you can usually ask RM as well for info.
Go to your RM Account Manager, and get better rates for Tracked 48, 24, Large Letter Tracked, etc (often nearly the same price as CRL and average weights too).
When fully tracked, far less non-delivery issues, and you can provide POD to Buyer, screensho that, etc.
Amazon then also do not email the Buyer saying to claim for non delivery as they have not tracked it.

90 days officially for an A-Z claim for non-delivery, but why so long, as even on DPD it is 14 days to claim, others can be 7 days, and Rm are 80 days max.
It depends if you can afford the defect, but ask why so long to raise with you, and was it Amazon's email, as that does not mean it was not delivered, just RM forgot to scan the package, apologise and ask to please check with family members etc - if they still reply not received and it is under 90 days, they will win the A-Z Claim
UPDATE us, how did you get on?
