Existing FBA ASINs suddenly saying "Not approved"

As of today when we create a shipping order for inventory to go to Amazon FBA some of the ASINs are giving us an error saying we dont have approval for these items. We have been selling them for some time on FBA and haven’t made any recent changes. Anybody else experiencing the same thing or have any suggestions. Have tried Amazon Help only to be told to delete and relist the listings but I am reluctant to do that in case it strands any inventory at Amazon, and the person on the helpline agrees it was a system error.

I am having the same problem. I am told I need to request approval. It only seems to be for a handful of products in the brand.

When I click on request approval it seems to go to random screens. After clicking a few times I can get the request approval screen to come up. When I complete the form it produces a draft application. When I click on go to application it just disappears.

I have some products where it says to request approval and when I click on the link it tells me |I am authorised to sell them but then when I click on the sell yours button it tells me to request approval.

The fact it is such a dog’s dinner suggests they are having another systems issue. I am just going to do nothing and hope it gets resolved.

I don’t have the energy today to try and speak to seller support. It will just spoil my weekend.

Its Amazon cracking down on brand names.

I had the same on products that were in FBA, suddenly I needed approval to sell them.

You will have to apply for Brand approval - its not a big deal, they just need photographs of the product clearly showing the brand name to prove that your product is branded, and its not a generic product you’ve falsely branded so you could have your own listing.

I have opened a case. I felt I had to take some action despite knowing it would be frustrating.

I explained the situation and sent screenshots. They have just replied telling me that I need to request approval to sell.

I have just resent the screenshots from the first message showing that it says I have approval so I am waiting for some more nonsense to come back.

I will let everyone know if I get anything sensible.

They replied quickly saying as you have been approved you can now send stock into FBA.

I have written back explaining AGAIN that I am getting an error message saying I need approval when I try to send stock in.

My case has now been sent to an internal team.

So that’s that then.

I had this issue a few time in the past few weeks, listing stating they are active in your inventory if you actually click into the actual listing page that customers see, I’m not showing as being listed against the ASIN as a seller, if you check on the active listing tool it states that your active on the listing, I’ve opened 5 cases today with seller central, I have have close to 2000 active listing so it would be impossible to check them all and open a close for each listing. Also the Seller support just say that they have check and they are active, so I’ve had to screen shot them the pages eg. ASIN, B00MI2SNMU, B081SWVG5H, B01CCKLAVI all say that I’m active but I can’t see me listed as a seller against any of the these item??? So my guess is that there are issues in the catalogue Amazon not displaying properly effecting some or all sellers, even if Amazon fix this in the background at some point today, I doubt your get an information or confirmation that this is happening.

Lots of sellers are reporting the same. Think Amazon is doing house cleaning before the Xmas period.

If its a toy and its just FBA maybe its the restrictions on new sellers sending toys into FBA over the xmas period (starting early maybe?)

Seller Support have got past the repeatedly asking for information already provided and have moved onto the guessing solutions part.

They have just told me the problem is that the products need to be labelled with an Amazon barcode not the manufacturer bar code.

All toys have required a manufacturer barcode for years.

We have listings with the same issue, they have been made inactive with the message ‘You need approval to list this brand’. The ones effected are listed under own brand and are not related to Toys.

When we use the help tool, it shows there is a ‘technical problem with the listings’.

This looks like a system wide problem with the AI bots picking up listings which don’t need cleaning (if that’s whats going on)
