Abusing the Return Process
Afternoon everyone, what can I do with this?
Had a buyer call , they purchased a laptop 10 months ago & said that they wanted to return for a full refund as their company had given them a new laptop. I said sorry but we do not hire them out!
He said because it was Prime the terms state you can return within one year for a full refund. I said only if faulty and after 10 months we would repair or replace. He then said ok its faulty{lie} and he sent it back. It was heavily used with no faults , but as a gesture of goodwill I just sent him a new renewed exact replacement laptop. He has called me many times saying he does not want it, wants money back and trying to barter an amount. My parcel to him has now been refused and is coming back to me.
I have reported him to Amazon for misuse of the return process . Seller support me and then say they will have to send it to the Prime department. All I get back now is automated responses more or less saying buyer gets what he want!!
I am not prepared to give in on this, what’s my best route? I think the lowest I can refund is 50% which is out of order why should we have to give such a large amount back if it comes back in such a bad state and heavily used. Usually Prime then step in and give back the other 50% and refuse us a safet claim with no comeback. I really think Amazon have to look at buyers abusing the system instead of abusing us all the time!!
Any advise would be appreciated , I should not get annoyed but I just cannot help it when its so blatant.

Reading these forums I don’t know how anyone can stomach selling high value items, electrical items in particular on here since the comeback (and lack of protection) seems huge.
It is ludicrous that someone can buy and use a laptop for 10months then expect and probably will get a refund on it. Hopefully you get this sorted without being out of pocket and I would say you have every right to be more than annoyed.

I’m at a loss at why you got into the return & sending a new replacement. I would been absolutely not or heavy refund deduction on original or he can pick it up.
I would never entertained in first place.

This is not a FBA it’s a SFP, yes Amazon would give an automated full refund on receipt of their return within 48 hours. The only way to stop this is to send a repair replacement or give a percentage refund which Prime always overturn give a full refund. I then open a safet claim and they always just reject it without reading the situation. You cannot then open the case again as safet claim is final. It truly is an utter joke Amazon are treating us sellers like dirt!!!
