Dirty tricks from Chinese seller

Hi All,

I wonder if I could get your angle on this. The other day I sold one of these which was despatched, and then I received this email from the buyer …

kathy w5jx5zdmrx5lc09+A02149141O9XZ3DD1BDMT@marketplace.amazon.co.uk
Enquiry from Amazon customer kathy(Order: 204-6424003-2235534)

Hello
Regarding you and selling our products (ASIN:B073VF34BB), please stop this behavior! This is our goodwill warning, please be careful!
Our brand was registered in the UK in May 2018. Your follow-up is in violation of the Trademarks Regulations of UK. Please do not follow the illegal sales activities. For this malicious behavior, we have drafted the following measures and implemented them step by step.

  1. We have talked with Amazon’s internal investment manager and suggested that we always write a complaint letter to Amazon.
2, In addition, we will use our own means to protect our legitimate rights and interests, we will buy every malicious competitor’s products, we will place 10 orders first, and then leave a valuable evaluation (as a seller, we are very clear what kind of evaluation It will not be deleted), open A-to-Z or Chargeback claims, and we will guarantee that we will continue to do this at the same time.
3, We will report to Amazon after the order, saying that you sell fake and shoddy products, start Amazon will immediately warn, report more times, your account is directly suspended. Please believe that we know how to operate.
Please stop your follow-up after seeing this email. Thank you.
    Best Regards!

I used the “report” link to flag this to Amazon as it’s obviously from a seller (Newzerol, the only other seller of this product on Amazon), I also replied that I was doing nothing wrong, my products were bought as excess stock from an auction house and absolutely genuine.

The buyer “kathy” then placed another order with me for 2 more, which i cancelled, followed by another order for 3 more which I also cancelled.

“kathy” has now posted 2 negative feedbacks on my account which Amazon say they can do nothing about, despite agreeing that it does look a bit fishy.

I’ve now pulled all my products from sale and am considering just closing the account … sales had been a bit flat anyway.

Big problem, not wise to purchase via this route, you cannot provide authenticity.Amazon only accept invoices from Brand Manufacturor or Distributor in response to authenticity claims.

Fight fire with fire, email jeff@amazon.com send them the product ASIN, the message you got from the China seller and also the negative feedback comments / order details. I am sure this type of practice is against Amazons policy so by emailing jeff@amazon.com the escalations team will look into it and will have more power than Seller Support.

Good Luck

Lucky you, we weren’t warned at all. We had a similar situation, where we tried to sell under existing Chinese ASIN. Our Chinese seller didn’t mess with a “goodwill warning” but raised 10 IP complaints against us, after trying to order 15 items to an undeliverable address (which were cancelled and we had our rating dropped down as well). Amazon also didn’t mess about any checks and blocked everything automatically. The funny thing is that Chinese are saying we are selling counterfeit products, but we have bought from them. It’s bad situation to be in, too much time consuming to sort all this robotic negligence from Amazon and rudeness of Chinese sellers. It is the same feeling as if you’ve stepped in a horse sh*t…

Low and behold … the seller/buyer has now removed the negative feedback!

You are right, the message which you received from your buyer/competitor following a test buy is against the Amazon’s written guidelines and you should report it using the “Report message” button.

However, you should also know that attaching your offers against other seller’s established private label listings without authorisation to resell their products or having them purchased directly from them is a very bad idea and will normally result in various authenticity complaints/ infringement claims.
