Sent buyer 2 of the same item via FBM , she only paid for one
Exactly what the title says, I have accidentally sent the buyer 2 items when she has only paid for the one. I have messaged her letting her know I am aware of this and I know she is because they have both been signed for and delivered. As predicted I think she has ignored this message , question is would it be worth chasing this up with Amazon at all? I of course offered to pay for the return label and have it collected from her house. Just wondering where I stand with this and if it could be considered theft if she did Just ignore me. Thanks everyone.

There are others on this Forum with a lot more experience than me, but I would suggest that you put it down to experience and don’t make the same mistake again.
If you pester the Buyer they may advise AMZ and that might go against you, regardless of the fact that they got an extra item for free.

What was the value of the item (to you)?

unless its high value i would move on it would be very difficult to turn this around and dont think it could be considered theft as you willingly sent them to her she hasnt stolen anything really and possession is 9/10ths of the law so they say and how would you prove it? maybe the weight of the package but very difficult amazon wont be interested either

Read this, especially where it says:
It’s a different story altogether if items are sent to you by mistake. That is, if the order wasn’t meant for you, if it was sent to you twice, or if there’s extra stuff on top of what you ordered.
In all these scenarios, they are not classed as unsolicited goods, they still belong to the trader and you should try to give them back.
Firms can take you to court to recover their goods, if you were to resist.

Thanks everyone for replying and the feedback it’s all noted. The item will have only cost me £60 including shipping and I do agree with the issue this could cause that it is not worth pursuing. That link sent in does state that she should really be sending them back but who knows what it would actually take to retrieve that item if she continues to ignore me. As also mentioned Amazon would 100% not side with me so I’d be pretty much fighting an already lost battle. Thanks everyone I’ll just leave it and chalk it up as experience. Appreciate you all!

You could post her a postage label to return it. If its not returned cancel the label and its only cost you a stamp, if it’s returned happy days.

Send them a prepaid return label via Amazon messaging, and maybe their conscience will get the better of them and they’ll send it back.
