Refund customer and not expect return of item

Refund customer and not expect return of item

Hi

I want to give a customer a 100% refund of their purchase price of item but also allow them to keep the item (the item was partly defective but they can still use it, and so I’m hoping by doing this I won’t get bad feedback)

I have gone to Manage Orders and found the order using the order number. Do I then just simply click the ‘Refund Order’ button and will this will refund all their purchase price?

I would just like confirmation if anyone knows please if I do this that Amazon won’t then send out their emails requesting the item be returned etc

That will do what you have said. You’ll need to clarify a few options in a popup window on clicking that button - but they won’t be asked to return the product (provided they haven’t already opened a return request anyway)

Just make sure you don’t go back to them asking them not to leave bad feedback as you have refunded them.
