Amazon Refund Message, Customer Support Confusion!
Ready for this one? Customer messages us after we have provided a refund…
The £18.10 refund could not be credited to the credit card it was purchased on as the credit card account was closed due to fraudulent activity . I now have a new account number . I would like the refund to be reissued to my new account .
Advised that although we approve the refund, it is amazon who actually handle the refunds. Have just had this come through from Amazon Customer Services.
Please note that the refund does not come from Amazon as Amazon is just the middle man. Please assist customer with the refund as there was an issue with her card. Or give customer refund reference so they may check with their back account.

As long as it shows as refunded on the order for that customer there is nothing else you need to do.
Refer the customer back to Amazon customer service as you do not control over which card the refund goes to.
Your initial actions were correct, the problem is with Amazon Customer services who have no idea of what they are doing!

I’d just respond back with something like, unfortunately we don’t deal with payments and refunds. Please contact amazon directly
