VAT Issue

Hi,

on 7th of May 2024, i got an email from Amazon regarding VAT.

In total they have said that i have to submit 22000 GBP tax.

Now the problem is that i transferred this account to my company after purchasing it in October 2022, whereas this account was first established back in January 2021.

Amazon is calculating tax from January 2021 whereas they should be doing from October 2022 when my company VAT liability starts

I have contacted their help many times, but they just keep on replying with same bot generated messages. I have asked them many times to engage me with TAX specialist but still nothing.

Does anyone knows the solution of this problem because amazon has also blocked my disbursement from 7th of May which is affecting my business in an extremely negative way.

Kindly HELP!!!

Not sure if anyone on the forum will be able to help - hopefully someone might be able to offer up some advice. What I would say is, did you transfer the account to the company correctly ? ....and did you close /de-register the older account (assuming it was VAT registered). Surely your accountant should be able to help/advise ? I am just hazarding a guess here !

Just pass this on to your accountant. You should be able to get a report on the sales you made during the period you were VAT registered and the value of the orders you charged customers VAT on. From that you should be able to calculate VAT liability. Why is this only an issue now? You should be paying VAT quarterly.

If you have a VAT liability of £22000 then your turnover must be £110,000. If that is the size of your business you should be able to employ an accountant with VAT experience to sort you out.

Unfortunately a bot with VAT issues answers all questions.

I sent almost 20 e-mails about the problem I had, but unfortunately the same bot every time :(

It is really not possible to understand this callousness of Amazon

Hello @Seller_8hdrHSL2AvkJ0,

I'm Sarah with Amazon.

Did you manage to find a solution with the VAT team?

Kind regards,

Sarah.
