Selling in Spain from UK
I have just started selling on Amazon in the UK, which is straightforward. I would like to sell in Spain but have questions about what I need to do with Amazon and whether they will manage the VAT and import tax for me. I’ve been told by someone who has a seller account that Amazon does it all for you but I’m unclear whether this information is accurate.
So questions …
- Do I have to use FBA at £25 per month?
- Do I need a VAT number for Spain?
- Will Amazon manage the VAT for Spain for me? And report on it and pay it? Do I need to use Amazon’s VAT services to do this?
- How is Import Tax/Customs dealt with?
One last general question … is herbal tea a prohibited item for importing into Spain?
Thanks,
Debra

In order to store stock in Spain you will need to register for vat in Spain and get an eori number
Amazon offer vat services but can be quite pricey

You need to go and do some serious research before proceeding any further.
I would suggest starting with Seller University (as you were advised to do back in February) and then browsing through the many forum threads on these subjects, before returning here for any small points of clarification.

Meanwhile, I have a couple of questions for you:
- What is the legal status of your seller account (e.g sole proprietor, limited company etc)?
- Are you registered for VAT in the UK?
- Do you have a UK EORI number?
