Melting temperature attribute will soon be a required step for ASINs... You've Got To Be Kidding, Right

Are Amazon having a laugh. This on top of the current VTR fiasco. I’m so pleased this doesn’t affect me but I feel the pain of those it does. How on earth can this help customers. Anyway… I keep all my chocolate stash in the fridge.

Amazon can’t even list products in the right category, who in Amazon towers put their hand up and said “I know what will improve the buyer journey, melting temperature info”.

And what other moron said, “Yes Karen, that’s an amazing idea, give yourself a lollipop”.

Perhaps the next thing will be asking for booksellers for the burning point of paper!!
( luckily Ray Bradbury tells us what it is!!)

I am looking forward to raising a case with seller support when my clothing lines are changed to have a melting point and I have to explain that they don’t melt just burn!

I am sure there are a very small number of customers who are interested in the melting point of certain items. However these really are the minority, I struggle to get the basics such as title and description changed on listings. I struggle to get variations associated with their parent items. I struggle to get suppressed listing reinstated. If Amazon developers have spare time to add in new functionality lets try to get some of the existing issues fixed as well.

I am all for Amazon improving the site and giving customers good information about products this benefits us all. However lets just try and get the basics working first.

Honestly… What are they thinking?

Do we know what products it ‘does’ affect? A forum mod over here:

Suggests it’s ALL products regardless of shipping method. Is that right? I doubt even the manufacturers of our products would know the melting point.

Surely flash point is more important than melting point, my godd

Is this possibly to do with ensuring they are being correctly stored in the fulfillment centres to avoid returns for melted and reformed chocolates?

I am guessing the chocolate analogy is probably correct, I seem to remember reading something along the lines of Amazon not taking chocolate for FBA in the summer months in certain countries.
