Brand application and brand gating
I am sure i am not the only one but I would like to know if anyone has had as much trouble as me applying to list products that require a “brand application”. I have been at it for 2 months now with the brand application “team” now refusing to help, essentially regurgitating the same information to me. Telling me I am ineligible or don’t meet the requirements without any indication as to what exactly I am missing. It has been extremely unprofessional and unhelpful on their part.
It is worth noting, I not only have genuine invoices, I also have a letter from the brand owner giving me permission to list the brand AND confirming the supplier information on my invoice is correct. Having this direct relationship with the owners of the brand and Amazon still telling me I don’t have the right “documentation” is insulting.
It is worth also noting that a seller in another marketplace has been cleared to sell against the brand, with the exact evidence I am providing. Knowing this makes the situation even more frustrating.
This is for the Toy category, have any other sellers had issues un-gating brands or applying to these brand applications recently? How have you overcome Amazon’s objections?
Because I have had to apply so many times Amazon now actively blocks our account from applying again we have to keep one case alive.
I would like to know if there is any escalation methods I can use to get passed the clearly automated responses I am now getting. I have all the documentation they could want but they clearly are not reviewing it
Thank you to anyone in advance who can provide some insights. This is one of the worst seller “support” team experiences I have had in 3/4 years of doing Amazon seller.

It might just be because you are a new seller without an established selling history. Some categories or brands are gated until you are more established.
How do you know the other seller has the exact same evidence? It is possible they have a better sales history.
To be honest if Amazon have said No and are blocking you from raising future cases I would leave it for now as all you will do is irritate them and potentially get a violation for code of conduct.

If your a new seller, you have two things going against you.
Firstly, if it’s the toy category, it’s difficult to get approval for, until you have a decent history of sales.
Then you have the problem of getting past individual brands.
So just because you have invoices etc, doesn’t mean that they will just open up the category.
You will need a history first, then it becomes considerably easier to get approval for most brands.
However, if you already have a history and are getting knocked back, what exactly are they asking for and what exactly do they say on rejection?

We have been active since December 22, while we have not had huge volumes we have seller feedback of 100% at the moment (49 ratings) and we are active in the by box for many other listings. We are selling regularly and have no strikes against our account. I suppose this is the first time we are adding products in the Toy category, but how does Amazon suggest we build a rate of sale without allowing us to sell the brand name? We know the difficulties that come with messing around with the brand name upon uploading listings so we would just like to have the application over and done with
