Amazon Logistics Returning Parcels as "Damaged" but nothing wrong with it on Receipt

I assume the couriers Amazon Use for Seller Fulfilled orders are held to the High Metrics we are a if they deliver late they are sanctioned one way or another.

We have had a spate of returns where when i check tracking, i see something like this:

Mon, 20 Sept 2021, 15:01 BST|Aldershot GB|Returned to seller
Thu, 16 Sept 2021, 13:20 BST|Leicester GB|Package arrived at the final delivery station
Thu, 16 Sept 2021, 13:20 BST|Leicester GB|Package is damaged and will not be delivered. Package is returning to sender and a refund will be issued once the return is processed.
Tue, 14 Sept 2021, 15:00 BST||Package delayed in transit
Mon, 13 Sept 2021, 15:33 BST|Aldershot GB|Item has been picked up by the carrier.
Mon, 13 Sept 2021, 10:25 BST|GB|Collection scheduled with carrier.

We have received it back and the packaging is fine & the product is fine!!

This is the 3rd this week.

I can only assume the couriers are using this as a work around for late delivery caused by delays!!

Anyone else seeing this?
