A mysterious deduction was taken from my Account in November and only after pressing Amazon did they reveal that is is a EPR FEE(TAX) for selling into France for 2023! There was no email or other notification form Amazon. I think this is underhand.
I only noticed because I have stopped selling into France so this appeared as a charge against my credit card. If you have a balance on your account the money would be deducted "Silently",
I suggest you look through your transactions for "Other" - MISC Fee. And raise a query if you find a mysterious subtraction from your funds.
The small print from Amazon is in help. Look for EPR - Amazon do not allow URLs so I can't show you a link.
Apparently Amazon had "Miscalculated" the fee and is clawing the money back from Sellers by Stealth.
Amazon support say :-
Upon review, I have found that these charges are categorized as 'EcoFeeChargebackAndServiceFee'.
This relates to the EU-mandated EPR regulation and these fees have been charged due to an incorrect calculation of the Extended Producer Responsibility fees and charges over 2023.
If Amazon have miscalculated a fee over a year ago then they should take responsibility for thier mistake and pay the fee out of their own coffers.
