Branding is all about control of your product.
Your basically talking about pepsi, versus coke.
But if you don’t know much about it, I suggest you start reading up about it.
Lot’s of websites out there, that will tell you the initial costs of buying a brand and suchlike.
It’s not particularly expensive, but it’s not that cheap either.
Only at the point where you actually have a brand, can you think about registering it on Amazon.

I wouldn’t bother with it if its just for selling on Amazon. I went to the expense of registering my trademark, and then registered my brand with Amazon. I still get jokers listing on my products - infringing on my trademark and unlawfully using my brand.
And guess what, when I report it to Amazon I get an automated reply telling me they are going to do diddly squat about it. Thanks a bunch Amazon, looking out for your sellers as usual!
