Royal Mail Strike - second ballot to go through - no Strike action...yet
I’ve just found out that Royal Mail workers are going to be voting again in a second ballot to determine strike action.
Taking this into consideration no strike action will affect the first week of August, with potentially a week-long strike to take place, most likely around mid to late August.
No dates can be determined until the outcome of the second ballot. The first generated 87,000+ yes votes with under 3,000 no votes. 23,000 employees choose not to vote.

My information came from a friend who’s a Postie. They were informed this morning that a second ballot will be taking place.
Yes, you are correct in that they do have to give 14 days notice.
Edit @mark_matthews I see you have withdrawn your post.

This strike action does worry me as if there is a prolonged strike it could be in the run up to Christmas which could will be very detrimental to sales
I also think it will do Royal Mail no good in the long run. They are currently trying to push their parcel business and any prolonged action will see people move to other couriers and possibly not move back.
