Changing descriptions/pictures
How easy is it to change descriptions on items… One of the Music books we sell no longer has a CD… only Audio Download so need to change the description and image.
I have tried before and found it really difficult to change things but maybe I was just doing it wrong… any advice or a step by step guide would be massively appreciated.

If editing from your product page isn’t viable, you’ll have to contact Seller Support by opening a case in which you request your products’ description and image change. It’s a very tiring and bothersome process to do, but it’s the only way if you want to see changes to your product page (also, you’ll have to wait for the Seller Support confirmation, and that might take a while, so sit tight and wait).

You should create or use a different ASIN. It is not permitted to materially change the offering on an existing product listing.

Changing a description is very easy if the listing is yours. Simply find the item in your inventory and click edit. Change the lines of the description you want and press save. Usually takes 15 to 20 mins for the description to be updated on the amazon website. The picture is a little bit more difficult and can be hit and miss. I have found that if the picture is of a higher resolution than that the one currently on the listing then it usually get changed, again it takes 15 to 20 mins to update on the amazon wesite. Hope this helps.

I am familiar with this type of item. It may well be that other sellers still have the older CD edition, especially if the ISBN hasn’t been changed. It may be better to contact Amazon providing them with the manufacturer’s website details and a link to the new updated edition to prove that the new version has an audio download and not a CD. It may be that the listing is updated, or that Amazon create a new one. If the old one is just updated all the previous sellers with the CD version will still have their copies listed.

Make your changes to the description or photos in your inventory as desired and wait overnight, sometimes it will update automatically, if it does not update then you will need to open a case with the seller support and ask them to update your changes. Always tick that it is urgent and they normally respond quickly in my experience. The best way to contact them is always on email. Telephone calls can be difficult so I would also advise to communicate anything through email. I don’t think that it is necessary to create another ASIN each time you need to make changes. Amazon have always made my changes that I ask for.

Interestingly (is one word for it) I’ve just sold a book that was originally a book and CD pack when I listed it. It’s now become a book and audio download, so someone’s managed to do it. I have no idea what the customer’s expecting as I mention the CD in my condition notes, (it’s also mentioned in the reviews) and they’ll have been opted out of receiving messages by default. All good fun.

this is something i wanted to do but the replies here were a huge no no!
i put my tshirt sizes in with the bullet points of the description because Amazon’s default sizes are way out to my sizes, and we’re talking inches out!
So i wanted to do a bulk change of that bullet point with the new sizes from my new supplier - Gildan (who as you might know are bigger sizes all-round compared to Fruit of the loom. I have no intention of deceiving anyone at all but that was the gist of the replies i got. So i didnt change as it would mean re-listing my entire inventory.
Your question is basically the same as my problem. So did you change your listings or re-list? @FullerMusic
thanks
