Does This Name Ring a Bell?

Just had a ‘Where’s my stuff’ email from a (No Invoice) buyer by the name of Hamlinzhang. (Drop Shipper?)

I have never had any problems with dropshippers in the past and i was close to refunding.

Instead i replied in the usual polite message saying i will look into it.

Is this one a known scammer?

John.

PS If it is i will post my very helpful reply.

My response to any such messages is:

a) to confirm the despatch date, with tracking reference if there is one
b) to inform the buyer that, as this was a third-party purchase, I asked the addressee to confirm receipt to them and also to me (I include a note to this effect with all “no invoice” orders that are clearly from drop-shippers).

I don’t recall ever having orders or enquiries from anybody of that name.

Paul

Hello Paul, this was my very helpful reply:

Hello John, sorry to hear this, i am posting a letter to you with a Royal Mail claim form for non arrival of goods, i will contact Royal Mail to see if there was any problem delivering to you. I have contacted Amazon on your behalf to see if there has been any problems in your area. Best regards John

Never heard that particular name, but I generally ignore the “Where’s my stuff/upload tracking” emails, marking as no response required. I feel that if you reply saying there’s no tracking they’re more likely to claim INR. Had quite a few of the “This is a gift…” emails lately, I ignore them too.

Yes, definitely. Mark the message as suspicious and report the details to Seller Support, including the information that this “buyer” is in violation of Amazon policy regarding dropshippers by having sellers ship directly to his/her/its customers.

just wondering how you are convinced by the above that this is a dropshipper? Could it not be a gift to a friend?

I am dealing with him
NOW
Two cheap orders with a request for no invoice which is fine by me
He is NOT a scammer (I get a lot of this sort of request) and since I ran London based record shops I am well used to supplying other dealers
I can see what has happened my end so the buyer, in my mind, is kosher but as I sold it so cheap I will probably give a refund and recover my “loss”
Ah the joys of online selling Give me back my shop anyday and that great counter chat I miss

Amazon should make it clear to the buyer if this is a GIFT or a drop ship They need to clarify that to us after all we are ;professional sellers & some of us have been in business for many more years than Amazon
