I am trying to list some products for FBA, when I am prepping my shipment it does not allow me to use manufacturer barcode stating the SKU is not eligible to use manufacturer barcode and to print amazon ASIN instead. Why is this?

I recently opened an Amazon account and set up a couple of listings. While starting my first shipment, I found the default FBA setting for barcodes is manufacturer barcodes. My products are not manufacturer barcoded so I need to use Amazon barcodes. There is a file upload method for changing Amazon barcode listings to Manufacturer barcodes but I need to go reverse. Please advise how I can change existing listings settings from manufacturer barcodes to Amazon barcodes. Thanks in advance

Hi, I'm starting to move my products to FBA, and am currently weighing up Manufacturer vs Amazon barcodes. I manufacture my own products, which are socks, and have Amazon brand registry. They are all stored in individual plastic pouches - no barcodes on them.

I pay the annual subscription for GS1 so I could use manufacturer barcodes for FBA if it's better. However, from what I've read, it's actually smarter to use Amazon barcodes. If this is the case, I don't really know why I'm paying the GS1 subscription.

Are there any reason to use Manufacturer barcodes over Amazon ones?
