Text from amazon saying my account is on hold

At 1.30 I received a text from amazon saying that for security reasons my account was on hold. Ive had nothing via messages or email and can still get in the system and am receiving orders. Its come through on the same notification as all my verification codes so it appears to be genuine but even knowing that I dont feel like following the link just in case. Has anybody out there had a similar message

Tread VERY carefully.

Most likely not genuine and only appears to come from Amazon. this is very easily done by a scammer.

If you want my opinion, ignore and delete immediately.

Read a great many similar cases in the forum.

This is a 100% scam. I have already had my account on hold last year. You would not be able to login to your buyer or seller account at all if it was true.

And no, Amazon never sends sellers text messages to let them know about a hold being placed on their account.

Simple rule, if you can access your account and no alerts, or issues with your account, then do nothing, I doubt Amazon would put your account on hold via a text message.

I only ever use e-mails and messages from buyers as an alert to take a look in my notifications page on Seller Central. If there’s nothing there, then the message isn’t acted upon. Links should never be clicked, and only ever respond through Seller Central.

I got the same text today, using the exact same messaging system Amazon themselves use to give me verification.
I don’t think it’s a simple ‘hack’
If my friend texts me, I know it’s them as I can see the trail of past texts from them, to my phone number, and their 'name clearly on the text header.
This is exactly what I have got from Amazon, so therefore to achieve this, is a bit more complicated, as they have piggy backed on Amazon’s text stream to me.
It really does look like a genuine text, and you can see what the confusion is.
But, as always, unless I see something on my seller account page, this is the only way I ever accept it’s from Amazon, and also answer through the seller central pages.

Its a scam I had the same text - I logged into my amazon account via PC and everything is fine.

These scammers are so clever!! i don’t know how they can come through on the same number as the verification codes.

DON’T EVER EVER CLICK ON ANY LINKS EVER.

I got the very text message and at first thought it must be genuine as it’s the Amazon number but you usually get a notification warning via email.

How the scammers can use Amazons number is beyond me

On the number i get the security code on i aso get a text asking to sign in to verify my account and says its from the Amazon security team. Now this is the exact same number that texts me 6 times weeek with a sign in code still this security text comes in once a week and its not from Amazon. Scammers can quite easily now jump in on any numner and pretend its who you think it is. Amazon will never ask you to do anything by text.

I’ve never received a text from Amazon other than the two stage verification code in 7 years! I would always assume a text to be highly suspicious even more so than emails.
