Amazon Buy Shippig Evri adjustment totaling £184,000

it’s beyond unreasonable. We’re also seeing these "adjustments" backdated to last year with absolutely no prior warning. They’ve hit us with an oversized parcel charge, totaling around £184,000, which came out of nowhere. It’s especially frustrating since the original charges were billed at agreed rates (which we paid in full). Now, they’re claiming adjustments with rates nearly tripe the cost of Evri's standard fees.

The lack of transparency in their billing process makes it feel like they’re just adding arbitrary costs months after the fact. It seems like they’re putting smaller sellers at risk with these unpredictable adjustments, and I think it’s important we all voice this unfair treatment. We’re escalating the complaint to the CMA as well—if others are facing the same issues, it might be worth pushing back collectively to get a fair resolution.

That sounds awful. Is it Evri claiming oversize/weight items? they do it with me on ebay. i purchased the option that is upto 1.2mtr etc and they claim the weight is wrong. I alway challenge and ask for proof of the weight on scales etc as i weigh them myself, and they always cancel the additional charge as they cannot prove it. are they doing the same or is it amazon doing what amazon do?

I would also ask if it is legal to go back that far without prior notice or warning. sounds like a system error.

Yes, Evri is terrible to work with. But Amazon won't back down and make us keep working with them, regardless of all the complaints .

I sympathise with you; we went through a similar situation over a year ago. One day, we checked our Amazon account and found it was suddenly overdrawn by £12,000 due to false over size fees. Amazon no hope, and although Evri tried to assist, they mainly pointed the finger at Amazon, so resolving the issue took quite a long time. Apparently, it stemmed from an error in the Evri and Amazon system that added an extra zero to reported package weights, leading to the excessive charges. Eventually, we got most of our money refunded to our Amazon account, but it took several months. Just a heads-up: I understand Evri can now bill you directly rather than through Amazon Buy Shipping, which might be worth considering if you decide to continue using Evri .

Why have you guys not gone direct with EVRI and opened a business account.

Did you input exact weight and exact sizes into Buy Shipping?

If a guess and you were out, then they can charge you, so if you input 2Kg, but it is actually 2 grams over, so really 2Kg 2grams, then they will charge you for 5Kg + a fee as not declared the correct details.

There is also volumetiric weight, so maximum is 225 and if a larger parcel, could be over that, then a massive extra cost involved.

You need to challenge and ask for proof of each parcel, etc. Evri have likely charged Amazon. I know DPD has a purge a while back, but luckily only a few were an issue.

Mybe link to an Evri or RM Account?

RM tend to do averages and very few added surcharges, just charge you more on the next review if lots over size/weight from averages given in the quarter before.

DPD take larger parcels again, normally no extra charges, unless lots over size/weight. (Normally if you show as an ExpressPak size, but should be a parcel are the only extra fees).

That's unethical. If you had used Parcel2go smartsend. They will not let you buy more labels without clearing any surcharges and thus you can never really find yourself in big trouble like this. 184,000 is bankruptcy level of trouble.

I have always been wary of the fact that the whole process is not transaprent and I worry I could find myself in trouble like this. As suggested in my parcel2go example, you can never find yourself with a 184,000 surcharge bill unless it happend in one day.

Can you elaborate on the QTY, volumes and charges over periods?

00

Seller_TH9DATW06Doc2

Also, can you please elaborate on where you see this surchage?

Do they just take it out of your disbursements? Was it in an email? What notificaiotn / warning do you get of this.

As I said, unless you racked up that in 1 or 2 days under smartsend P2G you can never make that mistake. This setup seems both unfair and open for abuse in how much they can surcharge you and over what periods.
