For FBA small parcel consignments I know there is a 63.5 cm maximum length restriction.
However, there seems to be an exemption if the product unit itself is over 63.5 cm.
Does anyone have experience of sending these oversize items without penalty? We have been warned about sending oversize items before but they were small items under the length limit and have corrected that behaviour.
My fear is if we send this oversized product, will it actually be exempt, or will Amazon, being classic Amazon, decide to warn and possibly restrict our ability to send to FBA? FBA is quite a big part of our turnover so to lose it would harm us financially.
On the “Box Preparation” requirements it states:
“Box dimensions must not exceed 63.5 cm on any side unless the dimension of a single shippable unit exceeds 63.5 cm in itself.”
On the “Box Weight and Dimensions” it also states.
“A box may exceed the 63.5 cm if it contains oversize units that measure longer than 63.5 cm.”
Which, the way I read it, I can send multiple oversize units in one oversized outer box (the item is packed in threes, so I want to send three oversized units in one oversized outer box).
Hoping someone out there has some first hand experience on oversized items!
From my understanding and experience, if you send a case pack over 63.5cm, you get a warning. If you send a single unit over 63.5cm, you do not.
So if you have a case of six long things - Just send them as individual boxed units. Just ensure they either have the barcode on the packaging, or you slap a FNSKU label on them.
The problem your going to have, is that most of the parcel carriers won’t allow you to send units of that size.
But in any case, it’s single item of that size and not a box of three. If you sent a box of three, then you are falling out of the exception.
Have you thought to maybe use pallets instead?
