Becoming an exclusive authorised Brand Representative on Amazon
Just wondering if anybody has been through this process and can advise…
A company in France wants us to become its exclusive sales agent on Amazon.co.uk or to put it more grandly, its exclusive Brand Represenative. This means we have to get said company’s Trademark into our Brand Registry, so we can look after and protect that Brand. Obviously, we can’t enroll the brand in question directly into our Brand Registry as we don’t own that trademark.
Does anybody know the process we should follow? I believe the French company will have to contact Amazon themselves, to authorise us as sellers on the UK site for their products, is that correct? Assuming Amazon successfully process this authorisation, does that then mean the French company’s Brand is added to our list of Brands in our Brand Registry?
Thanks!

Yes, you can do this.
What needs to happen, is for the brand themselves to register the brand on Amazon.
They only need a brand registry account and not a seller account, though the two are more usually linked directly.
Once they have brand registry sorted, they can then add you as an administrator etc, depending on the permissions they want to allow.
Just to add, you can actually enrol the brand directly on your brand registry. You just need a letter from the brand giving you permission to do so.
Though it’s better if the brand themselves have ownership of it.
