Messaging a buyer
Buyer-Seller Messaging allows buyers to opt out of receiving unsolicited, non-critical messages from sellers. If you need to send a buyer a message that is necessary to complete their order, include the word [Important] in brackets in the subject line of the message sent via email.
I have just got this message again and still have no clue as to how to do it,when I want to contact a buyer I have 5 options from the dropdown starting with Order Information, I cannot insert the word Important in brackets,
Can you do it if so please share.
Thanks

You have to cut and paste the encrypted buyer email address and use your own email account to mail them from outside Amazon. This is what passes for a solution, in Amazon’s world, for their hopelessly useless messaging system.
Apologies to my neg stalkers that you can’t neg this post. You must be bloody gutted.

Are there any consequences to ignoring the “Use Buyer-Seller Messaging to send important order information”
just wondered if it’s an automated message generated from customers who selected the opt out request or is it being logged for a later implemented metrics reprimand or suspension?
Isn’t it sad reflection that every new “Amazon initiative” makes you dread any communication from them?
We have been very lucky up till now trying to maintain a positive feedback record & often in the feedback the customer is pleased with our communication,it’s what we used to call a personal service.

I have just dispatched 24 orders and then received 17, oops now turned 18, of these
“We were unable to deliver the message you sent because the buyer has chosen to opt out of receiving unsolicited messages from sellers.”
Has something gone wrong with this Amazon initiative because we have been blocked from sending dispatch notices and invoices?
I doubt if all these buyers have suddenly opted out of receiving messages and I seriously doubt the sense in blocking "Your order has been dispatched. " notices?

Amazon already send a dispatch confirmation email, so why send another one? As a buyer it drives me nuts
Sorry forgot to add … is this because of the new GDPR which comes into force in May 2018?

Hi Penelope, We use 3rd party order processing system Cloud Commerce Pro and find it very useful, it automatically sends out a personalised dispatch notice with VAT, RETURNS information and direct line to call if any problems or queries. It also sends out a VAT invoice, which we get requests for quite often.
Maybe we should now cancel this personal service, but I am pretty sure that this eventually will become more time consuming for us, it saved us from lots of customer requests for invoices, but it now seems likely customers will block these and then start requesting invoices again.

This might be a silly question but it say’s in your post that buyers can opt out of certain buyer / seller buyer messages.
However I have gone to my buyer account and can see no where to do such a thing.
You can change ad preferences and direct Amazon Emails but I cannot find where you can opt out of any buyer seller messages.
Perhaps someone can tell me where to check if I have been opted out and how to opt back in if I wish ?
I did find where you can opt out of “bounce back messages” though as a seller
" Warning: If you block the bounce back message, you won’t be able to confirm whether a message to a buyer was blocked or delivered.
Click Settings > Notification Preferences.
Next to Messaging, click Edit.
Clear the Buyer Opt-out check box, and then click Save."

What idiot came up with this system?
I keep getting these messages telling me that the buyer has opted out of receiving messages.
Now, I send 10-20 messages daily if not more.
Amazon, how about letting the seller know which order/message it applies to ?
Do I now re-send every message from today? Does it apply to a message I sent yesterday? the day before?
Give us a clue.
For gods sake it’s not that hard is it?
I’m supposed to put “Important” in the subject line, so what do I put for different countries?
