Date expired stock returned by Amazon, due to poor stock rotation

Fort the 2nd time I have had a number of items (11 units) returned as they are too short (<45 days) date code to be sold.

These items were placed in FBA last September with 11 months life remaining.
Since then we have shipped 250 more units to Amazon and Amazon has sold 245 units, so we are shipping to FBA in proportion with sales. The products shipped since September all have longer date codes, so should be used last.
When we ship to FBA, Amazon decides which warehouses it will place our products in.

Today after a number of emails requesting compensation, including escalating it to the managingdirector@ email address. They have given me their final word on the matter and said no.

12 months ago, in the same situation they shipped 45 units to me and paid compensation. So something seems to have changed, I used the same email templates this time round.

Any ideas for further escalation of the problem?
I was thinking of asking for the Amazon UK GSCOP officer, but it’s not really something I want to create a fuss about, I just want Amazon to take responisbility for their own failures, as do I in my business.

All suggestions gratefully received.

PS For context value of write offs is around 2% of my monthly turnover,

I can’t find the page where i read it previously, but (paraphrasing a lot) i think Amazon’s stance is that they don’t make too much effort to send older stock first as they prioritise sending the nearest item to the buyer and that seller’s should manage their stock control using different SKUs. If the buyer lives in Glasgow and there’s an older unit in Plymouth they will ship a newer unit from Paisley.

thank you Demel, yes the nearest fulfilment was the gist of the response. I do not decide where they send the stock though.
What do you mean manage stock control through the different skus?
