Drop in sales on majority of products

Hello has anyone found this past few weeks that sales have dropped off massively but still in buy box and monitoring sales and competetion has remained the same?

There have been numerous threads on this before. It could well be that the cost of living crisis is impacting sales especially if you are listing luxury or non-essential items.

If you search the forum for the dozens of other threads asking the same, maybe you’ll find an answer.

My sales are up month on month for the last 24 months (except 1) . Maybe it’s just what you’re selling.

It’s also school summer holidays, factory fortnight and a lot of people have gone abroad for the first time in 3 years.

The cost of living is putting of purchasers, along with the holiday season.
However, sadly it is only going to get worse early next year, once the reality hits.

The media is not helping, they quote the ‘Average’ price for Elec/Gas rising to £4,266, then talk about families. This is misleading.
So many will think they are talking about ‘Family’ size homes. The £4,266 price is based on 3100 kWh usage. Whereas a family of 4 in a 3 bedroom house uses between 4,000- 6000 these days. Their bill is going to be more around the £6,000 - £8,000!!

Of course you have single dwellers, and retired couples etc. bringing the average cost down.
But a lot of ‘Families’ are unaware of what is to come.
It is a mess.

And that’s Posties just announced 4 days of strikes. 2 (non-consecutive) days at the end of this month (thanks! Better be before paydays) and 2 in September.

Bit slow here, not terrible though, just bumping along, the hot weathers not likely to help, and pent up demand, everyone’s desperate for a holiday (why the airports are in meltdown) not wasting money on tat in Bezos Bazzar :joy:

The media is banging on doom & gloom, anyone noticed petrol prices are dropping now, but the media just harp on about £10k to boil a kettle this Xmas, just stop watching the news, have a beer, and enjoy the summer, the new variant will be with us soon :smirk:

The ‘Media doom and gloom’ in regards to the energy bills is misleading and their £4200 estimate for some is a positive outcome! A lot will be in for a shock come next year.
I honestly cannot see how people are going to cope.

Our family of 4 in a 3 bedroom new build (energy efficient) semi. (I do work from home, but it would still be crazy without that usage)

This is our reality -

We have a new, gas district heating system in out place and none of us pay any heating energy bills as they are all included in our service charge. There is no other gas in the building. Our electricity bill per month has doubled though, to £40, with Octopus. We also don’t pay any water rates as they are included in the service charge as well as a laundry with auto washers and tumble driers, also included. We are soooo grateful to be in this position and wouldn’t change it for the world.

What I think will happen though is a massive influx of new sellers in the run up to Christmas because lots of people will want to try and make extra money to help with the cost of living crisis. THis may cause issues for many sellers, especially with competitive pricing.
