Poor review - just ignore it?

I can already guess the answer…

I just spotted a poor review on one of my listings because the buyer clearly did not read the listing - that has ALL the exact sizes (in both the text description and a diagram image), etc. The review was about how they thought it would be bigger (don’t we all!) and the listing didn’t say that - when it clearly does have the exact size mentioned.

Anyway, I thought about sending a simple message. Just saying sorry, really. And pointing out that I’m happy to sort anything out before resorting to leaving reviews.

However I’m worried that Amz will see that as trying to influence the customer regarding the review, when actually I just want to say sorry that they feel ‘disappointed’.

Am I best leaving it? You used to be able to reply to reviews, but I see that has gone.

I would, unfortunately so many buyers don’t really take in the measurements before ordering and not worth risking a warning for unsolicited messaging.
Good customer service is no longer an option on Amazon now, whereas taking it on the chin and moving on, is sadly the norm.

You sell in handmade, so just delete the listing and relist the product.

@NBPhotography Have you ever thought about printing larger items?

I would either assume that you put the measurements in after the review, or that the reviewer is a muppet (as a fellow seller I’d go for the muppet)

Wouldn’t put me off buying at all

I had negative feedback on Ebay because a customer thought an A4 print would be bigger… there’s just no cure for stupid

LOL @Sequin

It’s what my company does. Large format fine art printing … up to billboard size. We print and ship all over the world for our customers who sell on most marketplaces. One of our prints was featured on Grand Designs last year. A mural in a house. It was cool as I have a secret crush on Kevin McCloud.

@NBPhotography has such beautiful photos. I’d love to see them bigger than a postcard

It all comes out in the wash as they say… When shopping online I read the product reviews and to be honest some i find shocking whilst others do give a true and accurate picture of the product.

Ive read some that say scammer and stuff which is targeting the seller rather than a product review.

I had a 1-star review on a product once from someone that said she couldn’t read the info as she was almost blind… but all the dimensions were there… annoying! It doesn’t matter how obviously flawed the review is, I’ve never succesfully had one removed to date.

to be honest I don’t even look at the reviews anymore.

We see this a lot. Someone would buy a chessboard from us, it literally says “21 Inch” in the title and then they’ll say something along the lines of, “I thought it would be smaller”. As if 21 inches is a variable size. 21 inches is always 21 inches.
