Amazon Buy Shiping - glaring issues for letters - Amazon, please help us out here!

@Jessica With only 30 days left to go until using ‘Amazon Buy Shipping’ becomes mandatary for dispatching letters, there appears to be some very concerning issues with purchasing and printing labels for these letter orders.

  1. When purchasing in bulk i.e 2 or more labels, the printing of these labels is about ‘half the size’ compared against when they are printed individually, making them completely useless, thus resulting in having to re-print them manually / individually.

  2. You get a downloaded zip file with these labels in landscape orientation and at the right size in proportion, but why do we even need these, when we have the option to re-print the label in Seller Central, anyway?

  3. Whilst only trying to process 10 labels today, upon trying to change the default from 2nd class to 1st class, the tab kept freezing after only a couple had been changed, in both Firefox and Edge, it did this several times. My operating system worked perfectly fine before and after.

  4. Can we not have the option to set our own default to 1st class rather than 2nd class, it’s very counterproductive having to change every order from 2nd to 1st. For example, I never even use 2nd class.

  5. From another post I believe a Mac user is having problems with layout from letters to large letters, with constantly having to change setups. @NBPhotography

  6. Address details can be printed over the QR code and encroach onto the return address, depending on the amount of words / characters on an address line.

What does work well is how the system remembers the weight of previous dispatched orders, handy when you dispatch the same things and that you can make your own packaging sizes.

Any other forum users, please add any other issues you’ve found / suggestions.

Well, today I gave it the full use. I had orders for 1 card, 2 cards, 3 cards, 4 cards, etc. and believe it or not, a 2023 calendar.

So, anyway, despite knowing all my sizes (setup in Shipping) and weights, the process took about 4 times longer than it used to.

I know that time will come down as we get used to it, but still. And what a waste. 4x6 labels for each (some portrait, some landscape) instead of a tiny stamp (for the ones under 100g).

Looking forward to Xmas!

New issue with printing letter labels with Buy Shipping! :man_facepalming:

So doing a batch of labels for letters again today, and I’m still not able to properly print in bulk. :man_shrugging:

However, the new issue is that sometimes, depending on how long an address line is, this can be printed over the QR code and doesn’t fit properly. Sometimes the address information can even encroach on the return address details, too.

@Jessica Can you please confirm you are / have been reporting back these issues?

Above is an example of the letter label layout when purchased in bulk i.e 2 or more selected.

These are totally unusable, and it simply cannot be expected and or accepted that these labels will have to be done individually to then print correctly.

Interestingly enough, I have used Buy Shipping for a few LL labels in the past week or so, and the size of the label is different from what is has been for years.
They were always 6" x 4", but are now coming out as 7" x 5" - I have changed nothing at all in settings - never needed to as always just printed via the pop-up.
They are obviously doing something in the background with their labels.
I could always get 4 labels per A4 sheet, but now they are too wide to get 2 labels side by side.
:confounded:

Yesterday I switched from processing Amazon orders for letters from Royal Mail Click & Drop to using Amazon Buy Shipping. I tried to bulk buy 12 2nd class labels and they all came out clipped on both sides as per @RS_Diablo_Graphics experience above. Undoing this situation by resetting every order and then printing every label individually took over an hour.

At Amazon’s advice I installed QZ Tray from Amazon’s website. This made the situation worse so I have had to uninstall it.

Amazon, you have got to sort this out before 31st March, or do what actually makes more sense, which is to allow sellers to use Click and Drop for letters and simply link the code Stamps/Franking to VTR so that these items are not counted.

BTW I use an Apple iMac and Chrome browser. I’m not sure if that makes a difference?

@James_2020 Are you able to assist further with your settings and how you are printing your letter labels at all? Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I uninstalled the QZ tray one this morning, after doing so when trying to print multiple labels, rather than printing directly to my Zebra printer, they opened in my adobe pdf reader, unfortunately the labels were still the smaller size and not in the correct orientation.

I then tried removing the Amazon print connect and did exactly the same thing, no change.

As I sell books, I can often send an item as LL, but the customer has paid £2.80 for postage.
I simply use a black marker pen and score through the price on the label.
Never had any problems in years !

This is just ridicoulous.

I use integrated labels on click and drop, either S17 or S19 labels and print out my RM48 labels with a packing slip with no issues. I then peel and stick.

Had a go at buy shipping on Amazon and my god is a complicated. I do not have a thermal or laser printer. I do not want to use scissors and stickytape. I do not want to have to mess about when I have hundreds of orders per day.

I can’t get the label to line up with my S17 or S19 paper, its too big or chops it off. I can’t move it about. If Amazon want us to use this why can’t they just make it the same as RM site. So we have option of orientating it with either the zebra printers or S17 or S19 intergrated paper.

Its driving me nuts and it is a mess

I have exactly the same issue with mine

No matter how i have tried to adjust settings etc still do not print labels for letters correctly

The amount of time i have had to request a refund and then go over to my persoanl click and drop account to get a label on there

I think what the issue is, is that royal mail have adopted a new layout for labels on letters and amazon havent bothered to update it their end
