Hi there,

I am opening this thread following a suggestion from Amazon CC.
I know I have seen some topics in the past regarding the same issue so I am aiming to consolidate it here in a hope that Amazon can provide some flexibility to sellers.

Here is my issue:
As you all know, UK shipping options allow for up to a maimum 3-5 day delivery window on shipping profile. However, their T&C states that we have up to 13 days to deliver the item for which there is no option in a shipping setting. I am keen to continue offering my customers a free shipping option but that, unfortunately, means that my delivery can take up to 5-10 working days.
At the minute I am having to email customers to let them know that their order may take longer than Amazon estimates, which is unfair on customers after they’ve already paid for their order. I think it is also unfair to raise my prices by 30% to accomodate a courier delivery, as per Amazon’s suggestion.
I have seen advice on here to extend processing time and mark item as shipped a few days after the shipment’s actually gone out. Unfortunately, should the cancellation come in while the item is in transit (but before it’s marked as shipped) I am obliged to honour it. This would not have been a problem had I had a large volume of sales but I am a new account.
So my question to you is - is this something that you are concerned about and would you consider commenting on here to show Amazon that I am not the only one who thinks that having more flexible shipping options is going to be benefitial for both customers and sellers.

Why don’t you simply extend your Handling Times?

Sorry, I think you are looking for a problem where there isn’t one. Just extend processing time and ship early. We have never had a problem and never contact a customer unless we really have to. Most would consider extra communication as spam. We have never had a cancellation after an item has come out of pending in almost 2 years.
