Sending FBA Goods to EU without VAT registration?
Hi All
I am sorry if it has been covered already, I am sure it would have been. We are a new company (5 months old) and were selling in UK and EU before brexit in a normal way, but werent VAT registered.
So can you please help me on:
- Is there any way we can send FBA stock to EU without being registered for VAT for now ?
- If theres no way without registering for VAT, whats the fastest procedure to do so. Any helpful threads for non-technical people like me would be really appreciated.

No, in order to use FBA in a country in which you or your business are not resident, you must be VAT registered in that country.
Are you VAT registered in the UK?
Amazon VAT services can arrange VAT registration in any or all of the EU countries. Note:
You can only use the service if you are VAT registered in your home marketplace/country - they do not handle VAT in your domestic marketplace.
Promotional offers are for the first year only and will be expensive from the second year (depending on what you consider expensive of course)
Once you have committed to registering in your first countries I don’t believe Amazon VAT services will then process further registrations in other additional countries so decide what you want up front.
Note Note:
Everything will change in July - I believe that a One Stop registration may be available from July that would drastically reduce costs and simplify EU FBA selling from a single VAT registration but I don’t know much (more) about it. It would be worth looking into this before leaping into old-style registrations now.

Thanks Peter, very helpful
No, we are not yet VAT registered in the UK but were considering to do so so that we can send FBA to EU again.
However, our turnover isnt very high that we will touch the 85k threshold soon.
so what do you suggest. Shall we wait till July or get VAT registered now ?

Many thanks both of you. Yes, it makes more sense for now to concentrate on the UK market after the uncertainty and customs issues. In the last 6 months about 50% of our sales were from FBA EU therefore, I was thinking to consider it and even going for the VAT route just to grab those 50% sales. So it is quite a decision to make
