Selling Lighters in UK
Hi,
I am looking at selling lighters in the UK. Can I buy them from a supplyier and just list them on amazon as normal? Or is there any checks or settings I need to do before listing them?
Thanks

Lighters are probably not a good starting point for selling on Amazon.
They will definately be classed as Hazmat, if you are planning on using FBA. But even then, they will be restricted on the method of postage as I’m sure most couriers won’t carry them.
I would strongly recommend that if your thinking of buying from China, then think twice about it.
Far better to buy from a UK supplier, where can prove authenticity etc.
Also, if you are buying to sell, you need to think about registering as self employed and the account you use on Amazon, must be a business account.
That is very much just the basics. You need to fully understand the way Amazon works, before you even think of listing something. So go read everything you can first, then ask questions.

So you will only be able to ship empty lighters as far as I know - Royal Mail and couriers will not allow fuelled lighters to be carried. Is this what you had in mind?

I was just having a little read there about another seller on another platform who had this problem, he spoke to a few couriers and found Hermes was the only one who could as they don’t use air transport and this is where the problem arises for flammable goods… you have to call them, but it seems like it can be done
