Expanding to Amazon Japan
Hello
We are looking to expand our products to Amazon Japan, however we have a few questions which we hope someone can assist with:
- Do we require an Amazon business registration and bank account?
- Do we need to employ Japanese customer service?
- Does our product packaging, manuals etc need to be Japanese or will English suffice?

Yes if you register as a business. You don’t need a registered business in Japan but may need one in your country of residence.

You are required to be able provide customer service in Japanese with email support, this is compulsory part of the seller agreement. Online translations can work for simple communications but more advanced situations will require a Japanese language person.

All products sold to Japanese customers must have Japanese instructions, ingredients etc.
Japanese are great customers and growth potential is good however you need to make sure you prepare yourself well to avoid problems.
