"Performance or quality not adequate" Returns
Is there a rule on who pays return postage for these types of returns.
Quality not adequate doesn’t mean item is defective.
Live example :-
Details: Please advise the customer if you are willing to pay return costs on this item or if you can provide a pre-paid return label. She hasn’t opened it but is returning it as it isn’t the quality she expected and it is not fit for purpose.

If the item was “Sealed” for reasons of Hygiene / contamination - e.g. face creams / food stuff, then when you authorise the return - without a pre-paid label, ensure your message politely makes it clear that a refund will be forthcoming if the item is found to be defective but otherwise the item is of no value and cannot be returned unsealed.
