Read onlyHello everyone,
I’m facing a critical issue with my Amazon seller account, and I’m seeking advice or assistance from those who may have experienced something similar.
Situation:
Account Deactivated: Our account was deactivated due to not having a VAT number. We are based in Canada, and our business activities in the UK have been deemed insufficient for VAT registration.
Inventory in UK Fulfillment Center: We sent inventory to an Amazon UK fulfillment center before the deactivation. We are now being charged storage fees and cannot manage this inventory due to the deactivation.
Cannot Reactivate Account: I have tried reaching out to Amazon support multiple times, but I keep getting automated responses saying I am using the wrong channel.
What We Need:
Temporary reactivation of our account to arrange for the disposal of our inventory.
Guidance on how to dispose of the inventory in the UK fulfillment center.
Advice on closing our UK selling operations if necessary.
Request:
If anyone has any advice or has dealt with a similar situation, your input would be greatly appreciated. Alternatively, if there are specific contacts or departments at Amazon that might be able to assist with this issue, please let me know.
Thank you in advance for any help or guidance you can provide!
If you are based outside the U.K. and have goods stored for dispatch in the U.K. there is no threshold for VAT registration.
As you already have goods in the U.K. you need to register for VAT now at gov dot uk/register-for-vat (change the word dot for a full stop - or period) I doubt if you will get any further without doing this.
Absolutely as above. To store goods in UK for FBA you MUST be VAT registered here, as the £90,000 threshold only applies to UK residents.
You won't get temporary reactivation of your account, it must be fully reactivated before you can close the account here, and for you to then decide what you need to do with your inventory.
