Policy Violation

Hi,

I have received a ‘policy violation warning’ :

“One or more of the ASINs you created violates our ASIN Creation and Listing policies.”
Detail Pages Needing Correction
Attribute changed: BRAND and ITEM NAME

Amazon have deleted the listing and now the stock is stranded.

I am unsure about how best to proceed with this, do I have to create a new listing with a new SKU and ASIN ? In which case product will have to be re-labeled and I will lose all the reviews.

Or do I create a new listing with the same SKU / ASIN and then edit the listing ?

I tried calling the account specialist but unfortunately they were only able to provide general information.

I believe this policy violation has occurred because when I created this listing I used a different brand name, I had to subsequently change the brand name because I was unable to trademark the first one - however, I recall this being done with the help of seller support who changed the brand name after I provided various supporting documents.

I have several other listings where the brand was also changed at that time, this was approx 4-5 years ago.

Any help / guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Matt.

Thank you for the update Matt

As per my review, the correct action has been taken on your end.

As I don´t have access to the Seller Support resources, I suggest to reopen your case and ask the agent if the listing is correct after your action.

Kind regards,
Julia.

Hi,

Ok thanks.

Please could someone advise what I should add to my appeal so that it would constitute a valid POA?

Thanks
Matt.

Hello @Matt-2021,

This is Noor from Amazon to assist you.

The plan of action is expected to cover all the details pertaining to the violation that has to be addressed.

The root cause of the violation should provide details like why, what, where and how.
The corrective measures taken should cover the actions that were taken to immediately resolve the issue on hand.
The preventive measures has to be very strong as it guarantees that we’re now well versed with what went wrong, have implemented preventive steps and will ensure that it does not repeat again going forward.

The preventive measures discussed above does not seem valid and looks repetitive.
Kindly discuss the preventive measures as per the root cause. Like, the reason of violation was policy gap.

How are you going to ensure that the policy gap has been filled?
Which policy have you referred for the same?
Is it just you that handles the account or you have employees? if yes, then have you trained them as well?
How have you trained your staff?
What is going to be your listing procedure?
How will you ensure that the listings are created rightly.
If you’re going to map the listings under other products, how will you ensure that it is not violating our listing policy?

For more clarity and discussion on the appeal, you can reach out to the account support team through the call me now button on the account health page. You can also refer to the seller university help pages on how to create appeal.

Hi,

Can you offer any guidance about the POA below, it was also rejected, I cannot think of anything else that I could possibly add to the appeal.

Thanks
Matt.

– The root cause(s) of the policy violation.

1 - I was unable to trademark my brand ‘Miracle Microfibre’ because it was too similar to another brand.

2 - I was able to trademark and get brand registered for the brand ‘Immaculate Textiles’.

3 - I did not read Amazon’s policy titled ’ Policies for Editing Detail Pages’ and was unaware that it was against Amazon’s policy to change the brand name for an existing ASIN.

4 - I re-branded this product and opened a case with Seller Support to change the brand name for this ASIN.

5 - I also changed the title of this ASIN to include the new brand name.

6 - No third party was involved.

– The actions you have taken to resolve the policy violation.

1 - I have created a removal order for all of the stock currently held by Amazon for this ASIN.

2 - I have deleted the listing from my inventory.

– The steps you have taken to prevent this violation in the future.

1 - I have read Amazon’s policies regarding editing product detail pages - I now understand that if a product is re-branded then a new ASIN must be created.

2 - I will ensure that the brand name I use when creating a new listing is correct.

3 - If the brand name changes in the future I will create a new ASIN for the product.

4 - I have no employees and so there is no chance of anyone else making this same mistake.
