Why is my FNSKU sometimes the same as my ASIN?
Hi there
I’ve created 3 new products under manage FBA inventory.
All 3 are private label products, and all 3 are set up the same way.
For one product I’ve been given an FNSKU starting X000… which is what I would have expected. For the other two, the FNSKU is the same as the ASIN.
I don’t want to get FNSKUs (that are basically ASINS) printed on lots of packaging only to find there is an issue with this!
I’ve tried to research this but all I think I can conclude so far is that if the FNSKU is the ASIN then my product will be comingled inventory. But they are unique privately labelled products, so I can’t think what it might be comingled with.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Co-mingled inventory is based upon the EAN/GTIN number, rather than ASIN/FNSKU.
So if you are labelling the products, you are not using co-mingled.
I don’t really see you having a problem with them matching in any case.

Comingled Inventory is effectively Stickerless i.e. does not require an FNSKU the EAN/GTIN bar code is used as the SKU.
The danger with CoMingled is the assumption all other sellers are selling the exact same EAN/GTIN and not some inferior substandard product as can be the case, it’s worth looking at what other Sellers are selling against this item and that they are genuine good Sellers and not shipping or importing direct from China.
