Are you giving RM delivery/collection their normal tip next week?

We’ve lost quite a bit during this strike, not least of all closing on Monday 12th here and the other place, to prevent any more loss.
I’m not sure the RM staff are sympathetic to this nightmare they are putting our businesses through.
Having said that we normally have a good relationship with the staff.
So, what are you doing?
Say, thanks for losing me £10k and giving me a huge headache, but here’s 50 quid.
…or what

I never give them a tip, mostly cause I’d have to start about 2 weeks before Christmas, and it would cost me a fortune.

I have at least 6 different postmen that collect my mail on a probably logistical system that only they know.

Those 6 are never the same as the postman that delivers my mail in the morning.

If it was the same postman each day then maybe, but I doubt I would this year, I don’t hold them responsible, but these strikes have cost me thousands, I think they owe me a drink this year

haha not sure what you were on about for a while there, then I realised you were giving a xmas-gift tip to the postie that comes to collect your mail.

well, power to you for doing it, but, judging by recent events, and even though I get on with the posties, if I started giving em tips I reckon they’d expect it to gradually increase in line with inflation and cost of living etc. too much of a headache trying to calculate the cost of another person being alive. you know, how much it costs me for them to live within their means.

Not a chance…! Saying that, I don’t tip people for doing their job in the first place.

Had some couriers we use daily suggesting gift ideas for themselves (from us), they can jog on too…

Any gifts go to my staff or to improve my business…

Royal Mail would be the last group I would tip, they have caused me so many issues over the years that I really do not like the company, and lets not mention when some of the strikes were cancelled we had a postie obviously in a bad mood throwing my bags into the car park!

I’m sure some of you have lovely posties, years ago I had a delivery guy that was nice enough, but generally I find them to be a certain type of middle aged man with a bad attitude…

A tip for what exactly? I have two posties hiding at the unit next to me for 2-3 hours on a daily basis as they claim if they come back to the depot earlier they will have to do more drops. The whole strike has been salt to the wound for the small businesses.
There are thousands of other workers that are not getting the pay rise they were offered and they are still not happy. Royal Mail will survive but those poor blindfolded posties won’t survive striking as much as they do.

Mine turned up 40mins late on Friday, sat in his van for at least 5mins then came out and jokingly said “I was waiting for my christmas present” then said to a member of my staff “I thought she was going to dress up as Santa for me.” This is one of a long list of “comments” he makes every time he picks up from me…

I normally give my regular postmen a bottle. Not this year.
