Sales are down, people have no money for stuff that isn't a staple. Give it some time and stuff should return to normal or find a product that people can't live without. Good luck!

Impossible to help, lotta unanswered questions that you need to have answers for.

Are you advertising? How is that?

If you're not advertising, how are your natural ranks?

Are you in stock?

Is it a seasonal product?

Did you change your listings at all?

Are you FBA? Or FBM?

How is your Account Health? If you're FBM that makes a difference.

Something changed, you need to work out what.

400 to 5 is not a normal drop, the other guy implying that this will fix itself is interesting. Unless I missed something, consumer spending is not down 98% since Christmas.

There are so many potential factors in play.

1) Are you still being indexed for all the major keywords

2) Maybe before some of the competitors were out of stock and now they're not

3) How is your ranking compared to your competitors?

All these are types of questions you need to investigate but I truly understand my sales are down but that's because we're just discontinuing a lot of product

You have two accounts selling the same thing?

You started in Q4, the busiest shopping season of the year. If your items are remotely giftable, sales are gonna tank after Christmas.

so is one gift related and the other a different kind of item? that would be my guess without knowing what u are listing

When selling on Amazon, think of it as a game of chance where the buyer is the wild card (factor X). Amazon's algorithms are designed with the understanding that not all product variants can be showcased simultaneously. This means that at times, some seller accounts might not get visibility, essentially left out in the cold.

Important:

About 50% of all visitors to Amazon come from search engines. Facebook is highly ranked as a data source by search engines because it has a human component interacting with posts. Open a business page on Facebook and post your product. Pay for "boosting". Make sure to use all the free marketing functions (like tagging images). Write alternative picture text with links to Amazon items. Ask your friends to leave ++ comments and give thumbs up. Successfully, it will be found in the search rankings 3-4 weeks later, meaning then you will see a pick-up on that weak amazon account.

Using Multiple Seller Accounts:

  • Diversification: Employing multiple seller accounts is a smart strategy. By regularly updating account details, product descriptions, images, etc., you can re-engage the Amazon algorithm, potentially boosting your rankings.
  • Dynamic Performance: Over time, the sales distribution among your accounts will shift. This is because as you update and manage your listings, the algorithm recalibrates, possibly favouring one account over another at different times.

Note on Algorithm Intelligence:

  • The Amazon algorithm is sophisticated; it can detect when different products or accounts are linked to the same business cluster, optimizing spread across the website.
  • Be aware that the algorithm might suppress one account to promote another within the same business cluster. This balancing act is meant to distribute opportunities more evenly among sellers.

Hello @Seller_eTAVgMkOqmEnu,

This is Josh from Amazon. Thank you for contacting our Forums!

I understand how concerning it can be to see a sudden drop in sales, especially after having consistent performance. There could be various factors affecting your sales, including seasonality, market changes, competition, or account-specific elements.

You mentioned that you've already contacted Seller Support about this issue. Could you please share your case ID? This would allow me to review the specific details of your situation and determine if additional investigation is needed.

Once you provide the case ID, I'll be happy to look into this further to see if there's anything that requires escalation.

Kind regards,

Josh
